| Bible Stories You Didn't Learn as a Child: The Sordid Life of King David with CNS Rabbinic Intern Josh Buchin | NOTE: NEW DATES! Tuesdays, June, 18, & 25 & July 2: 7:30 to 9pm Class fee: $36 (no one turned away for lack of funds). Register by emailing office@netivotshalom.org. The stories of King David present us with a powerful and nuanced portrait of a complicated and flawed human being. By studying David's foibles and successes we can learn how to behave properly in community, how to act towards those we care about, and how to work towards being our highest selves. Each week of this three week class we will examine a different instructive story from the life of King David. |
| Have You Ever Wanted to Learn How to Repair Books? | July 28 Have You Ever Wanted to Learn How to Repair Books? Here's a great opportunity to learn this skill and also help the shul. Our chumashim are in need of repair. On Sunday, July 28th, Lee Feinstein will teach us how to do these repairs. We are in need of 10 to 15 volunteers (could be family teams including children in middle school or older) to learn this skill and then help repair the chumashim. The teaching will take place on Sunday, July 28th (time to be determined). Some of the actual repairs will be done that day, but the remaining repairs will be scheduled on days and times that trained volunteers are available to do them. We want to have the repairs completed by the Yamim Noraim. Call or email Robin Braverman 925-979-1998 rivkah48@sbcglobal.net if you are interested in the training |
