This is a class for any Jewish adult (born Jewish or converted) who wants to dive deeper into aspects of what it means to be Jewish and engaged in today's world. Learn about: Theology, Holidays, Lifecycles, Prayer, Law, Torah, and more! Make new friends in a welcoming, inclusive setting, participate in Shabbat observance and holiday celebrations, cook and eat traditional Jewish food on Shabbat potlucks, take part in a community service project, and become familiar with Jewish practice. Knowledge of Hebrew is unnecessary.
On May 2, 2015, participants will assume responsibility for leading one aspect of a Shabbat service as part of the group's Adult Bat/Bar Mitzvah celebration!
