a new Tisha Be'Av resource available online

Dear Chevreh -

As we're in the middle of the "Three Weeks" which lead to Tisha Be'Av, I wanted to point to a great new resource available online:

A powerful new packet has been created entitled "Welcoming B'nei Anousim to Judaism and Memorializing the Spanish Inquisition As Part of Tisha B'Av Observances."  It was skillfully crafted by Rabbi Stephen Leon (El Paso, TX) and Rabbi Juan Mejía (Oklahoma City, OK),  based on the USCJ 2009 Resolution of the same name (http://www.uscj.org/Tisha_BAv_Observance8243.html.)

This collection was designed to introduce into Jewish communities to the history of the Bnei Anusim and to open our communities' doors invitingly for their return.  The materials, including text study, music, and poetry, are focused on integrating the Spanish Inquisition as a phenomenon that has shaped Jewish history and promises to play prominently in the Jewish future.  The Packet can be downloaded directly here, and is archived on the ShefaNetwork "Chagim" page: http://shefanetwork.org/holidays.

For more information, and to contact Rabbi Mejía directly, visit his website at http://www.koltuvsefarad.com/bioenglish.html.

May the days ahead only hold pain remembered,
Menachem
