Save the Date! A Dynamic, Facilitated Dialogue on Israel through a Literary Lens (May 15)

A Dynamic, Facilitated Dialogue on Israel through a Literary Lens

Are you interested in thoughtful discussion and dialogue on issues surrounding Israel?  Would you like an opportunity to learn from the viewpoints of others and to share your own with the help of a trained facilitator?  The springboard for dialogue and discussion in this session are excerpts from the memoir, A Tale of Love and Darkness, by acclaimed Israeli writer, Amos Oz. No advance work necessary; all reading materials will be provided.

Sunday, May 15 – 10:30am – 12:30am

This program is part of the Year of Civil discourse (YCD), a joint project of the Jewish Community Relations Council and the Jewish Community Federation, in close partnership with the Northern California board of Rabbis. www.jcrc.org/ycd.htm

Facilitated by Judy Gussmann

Judy Gussmann

has decades of teaching experience, having taught at all levels from elementary school through community college. She is the chairperson of Kehilla Community Synagogue's Middle East Peace Committee, which recently organized intra-Jewish dialogue groups where participants were able to share a wide range of Israeli-Palestinian viewpoints in a respectful and safe environment.  She is also the co-facilitator of the East Bay Jewish-Palestinian Dialogue Group, where she works to create an equally safe space for dialogue between Jews and Palestinians.
