As always, Yehuda Kurtzer's analysis is spot-on, and suggests to me that Minister Naftali Bennett's co-opting Natan Sharansky (Scharanski)'s plan for an egalitarian Kotel at Robinson's Arch (and the recent betrayal of non-Orthodox streams by secretly handing control over Robinson's Arch to an Orthodox group) is part of a larger effort to reduce the footprint and legitimacy of American Judaism's forms (including Open Orthodoxy). A major tenet of Community Organizing is "no permanent allies." I think this is a good moment for each partner-group in the global Jewish landscape to be true to itself, advocate accordingly, and for Israel to see that vibrancy as a gift.
