Yes, the world remains and is increasingly too much. For me, pausing and then considering a response has been a way of affirming life itself. It is why I write. As the great Joan Didion once put it: “I write entirely to find out what I'm thinking, what I'm looking at, what I see and what it means. What I want and what I fear." It is with this in mind that I share the publication - today of all days! - of "Crackling and Alive", a selection of my writings over 17 years (2006-2023).
