the masorti (conservative) movement in israel - promoting religious pluralism and building community through inclusive, traditional, egalitarian Judaism
Dear All:
You are all aware of the devastation of the fires in Israel.
Organizations of the Conservative/Masorti movement are jointly working to support a Fire Emergency Fund which will be used as follows:
  1. Immediate assistance to those in need;
  2. Funding to support NOAM and MAROM youth in the clean up and relief efforts which will likely be required over a longer period of time;
  3. Any remaining funds will be delivered to JNF as a gift from the Conservative/Masorti movement.
Contributions can be made in the following ways:
  1. Go online to, click on "Make a Contribution," and in the Program Designation, click on the line for "Fire Emergency Fund."
  2. Check mailed to the Masorti Foundation 475 Riverside Drive, Suite 832, New York, NY 10115 with the notation "Fire Emergency Fund"
  3. Call the Masorti Foundation at 212-870-2216 and make a credit card contribution
I have kept this brief and to the point because you all know the problem. I do want to note, however, how appreciative Masorti is of the support and cooperation of the other arms of our movement.

Executive Director and
Chief Executive Officer

To Kneel [a #Poem]

To Kneel

(c) Rabbi Menachem Creditorfor Landingham & Kaepernick, our angels in the wings
Sometimes, it isn't about nuance.
Sometimes it just comes down to facing the storm,
calling God out,
standing at the center of a whirlwind
holding your ground.

No cathedral is immune to agony,
no soul impervious to life itself no nation purely noble.
If it were any other way,
there would be no need for cathedrals
in the first place.

Kneel,  stand,  sit,  rise up.

To kneel is
to submit  to lower oneself  to step down  to pause.
To kneel is to call attention  to touch the Earth's face to listen to those  whose blood saturates  the very roots of our story.
To kneel is to step aside  to step outside  to invite others to come closer  to remember.
To kneel is not to stand not to stand not to stand idly by.
Speak your truth,
God damn it.

That's what God wants most of all.
