A Couple’s Prayer for Pregnancy

As children of ancestors who prayed for children,
Dear God, we pray: may we conceive.
We stand ready to love, teach, and nurture a child.
With your help, O God, may new life begin.
May the best of both of us be touched by You, and live.
Dear God, so many tears already; so many more to come.
We pray they be tears of joy, of promise, of life.
