Heard
(c) Rabbi Menachem Creditor
with thanks to Rabbi Amy Eilberg
Voice trembling,
lips stammering,
unclear expressions,
incomplete thoughts,
hard to breathe...
[breathe!]
Yet that unsureness,
exposed-ness,
the fear and worry of a no-longer-protected soul,
the startling recognition of
hidden wells of woundedness...
[breathe...]
held by loving ears,
caring eyes,
responsive, quiet words,
so much weight lifts,
chest re-expands,
heart moves - beats!
and pumps again with life.
[breathe.]
It is profound to be heard,
to feel heard,
to swim in being heard.
